Ministries

Pro-Life Rosary

The recitation of the Mysteries of the Rosary takes place on weekdays immediately following 9:00 am Mass.  You are invited to join us in this community prayer for an increase in the respect for the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death.

Eucharistic Adoration

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is conducted on the First Friday of each month.  Eucharistic Adoration begins immediately following the 9:00 am daily Mass and concludes with Benediction at 5:00 pm.  The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is prayed on First Fridays at 3:00 pm.  Sign up sheets to indicate hours of adoration are located at the main entrance of the church.  If you are not able to sign up for an hourof adoration, you are most welcome to come at your convenience.  Mother Theresa of Calcutta once said "What we need to convert America and save the world is to come before Jesus in the Blessed sacrament in Holy Hours of Prayer."

Stations of the Cross

During the Season of Lent, the Stations of the Cross are conducted on Friday afternoons at 3:00 pm.

Bible Study / Prayr Group

The St. Margaret Bible Study/Prayer Group generally gathers on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm during the months of October through April.  Gatherings take place on the lower level of the parish rectory.  The group often begins their gathering with Evening Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours and reflects on the Scripures for the upcoming Sunday Mass.  Other biblical and spiritual works are sometimes reviewed.  Membership in the Bible Study/Prayer Group is always open.  For details, contact Deacon Dick Bilotta at 781-273-1248.

 

Altar Servers

Boys and girls of the parish in Grades 3 and above are welcome to assist at the liturgy.  For more information about training and assignments, contact Chuck Hanafin at 781-272-5696.

Eucharistic Ministers

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion provide assistance with serving the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass.  Many also assist in bringing Holy Communion to the sick and homebound.  For more information on becoming a Minister of Communion, please contact the Parish Office at 781-272-3111.

Lectors

Reader proclaims the Word of God (Scriptures) at Mass and at other liturgical services. For more information on becoming a Lector, contact Dick Donovan at 978-670-2660.

Parish Adult Choir

Our Parish Choir generally sings at the 10:00 am Mass on Sunday mornings from September to June, as well at special liturgical services throughout the year.  Choir rehearsals on conducted on Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm in the choir loft of the church.  The choir welcomes new members throughout the year.  For information on becoming a member of the choir, contact our parish's Music Director Mary Meehan  at 781-935-7373.

Ushers

Volunteers who assist people to their seat if necessary. They also take up the collection.

Outreach to the Homebound

Some Eucharistic Ministers volunteer to bring the Sacrament of the Eucharist to those parishioners who are ill and/or homebound. For additional information, contact Chuck Hanafin at 781-272-5696.

 

 

Finance Council

Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish and school. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.

Parish Pastoral Council

The PPC is involved in most activities and programs effecting the liturgical and spiritual life of St. Margaret's Parish.

Liturgical Linen Service

Responsible for the preparation and care of the altar linens. This includes the washing and ironing of purificators, corporals, and altar linens.

Flowers and Grounds

Volunteers who care for and beautify the grounds and church. For more information contact MaryLou McQuinn at 781-272-9237.

Sacristan

Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.

Protecting God’s Children

All clergy, office staff, and parish volunteers are required to attend and complete a Virtus—Protecting God’s Children training session, a program sponsored by the Boston Archdiocese that provides an awareness of persons and situations that could pose a risk to children. The State of Massachusetts also requires parish personnel and volunteers to submit a yearly CORI form.
